Our projects build upon childrens' fascination with the natural world, the animals they love, the places they have visited and the seasonal changes. We often look at how the great artists of the past have responded to the world around them and use their art as our starting point. Classes spring from a diverse range of other visual sources including contemporary art and printmaking, ceramics, decorative arts, sculpture, historical artefacts, book illustrations and current exhibitions.

The children learn to use a wide range of techniques and artists' quality materials. But before we put pen or pencil to paper we do lots of looking! Good observational skills are essential for any artist, and help the children to approach their artwork more confidently.
